Being a communications consultant is a little like being one of Santa’s elves, working away behind the scenes during the year to deliver thoughtful, beautifully presented packages to clients.
A website here, a report there, a sprinkling of speeches and blogs, a few articles, several tenders, a strategic plan, a set of case studies, new intranet content, numerous annual reports, a couple of communications strategies, an information booklet, and a communications framework and toolkit…just some of the goodies delivered this year.
Each new job adds its own sparkle, even after 16 years in business. This year I delved into fascinating content, worked with delightful clients and alongside fabulous colleagues, and learnt about topics as varied as:
- criminal intelligence and the fight against serious and organised crime
- heritage precinct rejuvenation
- investment in renewable energy
- the potential of Australia’s transnational business networks
- the humanities in Australia
- counter-terrorism powers
- the use of screen content in schools
- voting in Australia
- rehabilitation hospital services
- reducing violence against women and their children
- the benefits of family/school partnerships
- initiatives to enliven our cities.
Now that’s a year worth celebrating…
Enjoy your celebrations this festive season and best wishes for a brilliant New Year!
